- Permit Drawing Production for City, County, and DOT
- Microtrench & Underground Design
- Construction Drawing Packages
- Fiber Pull & Splice Layouts
- As-Built Plans from plat maps and old DWGs
- CAD Production Support
Our Engineering Process
Our structured production workflow supports active telecom deployment programs from initial inputs through final package delivery.
- Inputs & Standards Review: Collection and review of project scope, base files, client standards, utility references, and drafting templates before production begins.
- Design & Draft Production: Development of permit drawings, OSP layouts, routing plans, construction sheets, profiles, and supporting documentation aligned to project requirements.
- Internal QC & Standards Verification: Multi-stage review process focused on drawing consistency, utility coordination verification, standards compliance, and package completeness before delivery.
- Revision Handling & Coordination: Organized incorporation of markups, redlines, comments, and field updates while maintaining document integrity.
Capabilities
High-Level Design (HLD)
HLD is an overview of the system that outlines its overall architecture and major components. It establishes the fiber route strategy, topology, and key equipment locations before detailed engineering begins — defining fiber routes, fiber counts, splice locations, and preliminary BOQ.
Low-Level Design (LLD)
LLD is the detailed engineering stage that converts the high-level fiber plan into precise, buildable routes, splice plans, and equipment locations. It includes construction-ready drawings, fiber core allocation, BoQ, and implementation details required for deployment.
Make-Ready Engineering (MRE)
MRE is the phase where existing infrastructure is checked and prepared so it can safely accept new fiber cables and hardware. We assess existing infrastructure on poles and specify all changes needed to make them ready for new fiber attachments, following NESC / GO 95 standards.
Pole Load Analysis (PLA)
PLA evaluates whether an existing utility pole can safely support additional fiber cables, attachments, and equipment without exceeding structural or safety limits. We calculate loads from cable weight, tension, wind, and existing utilities to ensure NESC compliance.
Permitting & ROW Approvals
Formal approvals from government or municipal authorities for excavation, road cutting, duct installation, and pole placement. We prepare permit prints for City, County, DOT, Railroad, and Highway submissions, including ROW, traffic control plans, and environmental approvals.
Construction Drawing Packages
Plan sheets, profile views, detail sheets, and field-ready construction documentation. Includes splice diagrams, handhole/PED placement, fiber assignment matrices, and final BOQ for procurement support.
Traffic Control Plans (TCP)
MUTCD-compliant traffic control plans for construction work zones — lane closures, detours, temporary traffic management, and work-zone safety documentation prepared for municipal approval and field deployment support.
Why ComDraft
- Standards-aligned: Consistent implementation of client CAD standards, layer structures, naming conventions, and templates.
- Structured QA/QC: Multi-stage review focused on consistency, utility coordination, and package completeness before delivery.
- Engineering-only focus: We handle design and documentation — not field execution — for clean handoffs.
- Flexible scaling: Small core team that scales with workload without dropping quality.
