Telecom Engineering Services
ComDraft provides telecom engineering design and documentation for aerial and underground fiber infrastructure, supporting planning, permitting, and construction throughout the project lifecycle.
Capabilities
High-Level Design (HLD)
High-Level Design (HLD) establishes the overall network design strategy before detailed engineering begins. We develop route layouts, network topology, fiber counts, equipment locations, preliminary splice locations, and planning documentation that forms the foundation for deployment.
Low-Level Design (LLD)
Low-Level Design (LLD) develops detailed, construction-ready engineering documentation into detailed, construction-ready engineering documentation. Deliverables include routing plans, splice layouts, fiber assignments, equipment locations, construction details, and bill of quantities required for implementation.
Make-Ready Engineering (MRE)
Make-Ready Engineering evaluates existing utility infrastructure to determine the modifications required before new fiber attachments can be installed. We prepare engineering documentation in accordance with applicable utility requirements and industry standards, including NESC and GO95.
Pole Load Analysis (PLA)
Pole Load Analysis verifies whether existing utility poles can safely support additional telecommunications infrastructure. Engineering calculations evaluate cable loading, attachment configurations, wind loading, and structural capacity to support standards-compliant network deployment.
Permitting & ROW Approvals
We prepare permit-ready drawing packages for City, County, DOT, Railroad, and Utility Authorities, and other Right-of-Way authorities. Deliverables include permit drawings, supporting documentation, traffic control requirements, and submission packages aligned with agency standards.
Construction Drawing Packages
Construction drawing packages provide the documentation required for field construction and installation. Typical deliverables include plan and profile sheets, construction details, splice diagrams, handhole and cabinet layouts, fiber assignments, and supporting bill of quantities.
Traffic Control Plans (TCP)
We prepare MUTCD-compliant Traffic Control Plans supporting roadway work and utility construction activities. Documentation includes lane closures, work-zone traffic management, detour layouts, temporary traffic control devices, and permit submission drawings.
As-Built Documentation
We prepare accurate as-built documentation that reflects completed field installations using client-provided redlines, markups, survey information, and existing drawings. Deliverables include updated plan sheets, network layouts, asset locations, and engineering records that support project closeout, future maintenance, and network expansion.
